TheSavvySoiree.com Launches TODAY!!

OK–I am SO proud and excited to be announcing the “face” of Savvy Bride–the new wedding and event design and planning boutique that will be taking up a lot of my time from here on out!

Check it out at: The Savvy Bride

A few months ago, I resolved that I had to find a way to use my professional skills in a way that was more fulfilling; that would be COMPLETELY satisfying to me; and that would allow me to channel my creativity, research, planning, communication skills (everything that I use in my career my day).

So, Savvy is what was born out of that necessity to expand and take on something perfect for me:)

In addition to the planning and event design services I’ll be offering, I will still be blogging! Savvy Blog will be VERY similar to what I have been doing here for the past year and I will eventually absorb the more than 200 posts and useful wedding planning tips, ideas and inspiration from My Cleveland Wedding, into Savvy blog!

Wish me luck and I’d love to hear from you:)

Cheers!

Meg

Bridal Shoot!

A few days before the wedding I did an “out-of-the-box” bridal portrait session at Pickwick and Frolic’s Martini Bar in Cleveland. I really liked the idea of doing some sort of bridal photos or portrait-like photos in my gown before the wedding but I wanted something a little different. I did these photos with Cleveland-area photographers (husband and wife team) Ted and Rachel Linczak whose work I loved–especially what they can do with lighting. And they were very excited to shoot what I had in mind:) I did this the Wednesday before our Saturday wedding and it was actually REALLY relaxing (I think the dirty martini helped!) In Other News…Pomegranates like Bling!

Since I’ve returned from the honeymoon I’ve been busy as ever with Bling Chic!

And I recently got to make a tank and undies set for a wedding world celebrity–Miss. Pomegranate from Wedding Bee who also has a great blog here: Kate’s Wedding Blog.

Anyways, here is the set I made for her–if you’ve been following her on WeddingBee or glance at her blog you will see how fitting the colors are! (The pink undies are a separate order).

Happy wedding day, Miss Pom!

Details and DIY!

DIY Bouquets
I used online vendor RoseSource for my DIY flowers–7 BM bouquets. They were delivered two days before the wedding. I ordered 100 stems of shocking versilia roses; 100 stems of hot pink dahlias; 50 bells of ireland and 50 hypericum berry. At the last minute they had to sub my dahlias for “spray roses” which I was not happy about but the bouquets still turned out well. The wraps are pink ribbon, black lace and pearl push pins. I’ll review this vendor more in my vendor reviews.

Introducing the Thorntons! We had our bridal party dance in to the ultimate party song, Marvin Gaye’s “Got to give it up” and form a soul train line. Then we came in to the NFL Monday Night Football theme and danced down the line to TI’s “What you know about that”. It was totally us and signaled to our guests that this was gonna be a partae!

I got really choked up (ugly cry) talking about my mom and what a strong figure she has been in my life. Here, DH offers a consoling hand…
