In Other News…Pomegranates like Bling!

Since I’ve returned from the honeymoon I’ve been busy as ever with Bling Chic!

And I recently got to make a tank and undies set for a wedding world celebrity–Miss. Pomegranate from Wedding Bee who also has a great blog here: Kate’s Wedding Blog.

Anyways, here is the set I made for her–if you’ve been following her on WeddingBee or glance at her blog you will see how fitting the colors are! (The pink undies are a separate order).

Happy wedding day, Miss Pom!

Details and DIY!

DIY Bouquets
I used online vendor RoseSource for my DIY flowers–7 BM bouquets. They were delivered two days before the wedding. I ordered 100 stems of shocking versilia roses; 100 stems of hot pink dahlias; 50 bells of ireland and 50 hypericum berry. At the last minute they had to sub my dahlias for “spray roses” which I was not happy about but the bouquets still turned out well. The wraps are pink ribbon, black lace and pearl push pins. I’ll review this vendor more in my vendor reviews.

Introducing the Thorntons! We had our bridal party dance in to the ultimate party song, Marvin Gaye’s “Got to give it up” and form a soul train line. Then we came in to the NFL Monday Night Football theme and danced down the line to TI’s “What you know about that”. It was totally us and signaled to our guests that this was gonna be a partae!

Recap Detour: More Ceremony Pics!!

I haven’t mentioned it yet, but in addition to our amazing photographer Corey and her second shooter, we had a third photographer who got some great photos! His name is Nick and he’s from Los Angeles, Calif.-based NPhocus Photography. He is one of my hubby’s frat brothers and is really good at what he does. So if you’re in SoCal and are looking for a talented up and coming photographer for your wedding or event, do check Nick out!
I just got a disc of some photos he took today–although some photos I’ve posted were taken by him including the very first, AWESOME image I posted in the “Mrs.” post of hubby lifting me in the air by the fountain.

Enjoy a few good ones he captured that give a different perspective of the ceremony and afterwards…

If you look carefully here, you can see me making my walk around to the ceremony entrance.

Loved their bouts!

Lastly, I love this one of my mother-in-law and the children

Formals!

After the ceremony, the bridal party took about 30 minutes to do some formals before we joined our guests for cocktails and jazz…

Wedding Recap: The Ceremony

Our ceremony was scheduled to begin at 6: 30 p.m. The music started at 6:40 p.m. I was surprised at how early our guests were arriving. Me, the bridesmaids and my photographer Corey arrived at the venue at about 5:45 p.m. and as we entered, my bridesmaids actually had to hide me with their bodies and bouquets from guests trying to enter the building.

Hubby and I had both written short vows, but besides that our ceremony was very simple–no readings, no singing, just our vows and prayer. It lasted about 25 minutes from start to finish, and though it was short, it was meaningful. It was perfect and exactly what we wanted.

Then came my entrance. I walked a long way–around the entire atrium of the tower to Diana Krall’s “Look of Love.” Guests could see me as I walked b/c the building is completely open. But my groom could not. It was very dramatic…

I met my mom at the entrance to the ceremony space and she escorted me to my groom–an honor well-deserved!

Wedding Recap: Girls In The City!

Before we headed for the ceremony and reception venue, the girls and I spent about 40 minutes taking some fun photos around the city. I HIGHLY suggest taking some time to do photos before your ceremony–especially if your ceremony and reception are back to back.  The pictures I got of me and the girls from our little session were some of my favorites of the day!  And it helped keep me busy so I was not stressing or being nervous.

In the free shuttle on our way into town…

It’s almost time!

Wedding Recap Part II:Getting Ready Boys

Our daughter delivered my gift to my hubby–some cologne and personalized cufflinks. I chose to give him cologne so there would be a specific scent that I could always remember the day by when I smelled it on him.

Drue presented all of his groomsmen with personalized gifts.

And he gave his brother/best man a football autographed by OSU legend Archie Griffin.

Then, before the ceremony, they hit the city for some fun photos. The Cleveland Browns stadium was a given…

PhotobucketMeanwhile, me and the girls prepared to hit the city ourselves! I saved money by not renting a limousine for the day–figured it didn’t make sense as our ceremony and reception were in the same venue. So we hopped on our hotel’s free shuttle, which dropped us off by Public Square for some photos before the ceremony would begin.
